About the Family

Thoughtful first-time parents in Foster City are seeking a full-time nanny for their son, who will be around 6 months old around start date of the role.

This is a long-term position for a nanny who is reliable, communicative, proactive, and developmentally engaged. The family is looking for someone who can confidently manage infant care while also supporting the next stage of development as their son begins solids, starts crawling, etc.

Schedule

Days: Monday through Friday
Hours: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Guaranteed Hours: 45 hours/week

Typical Responsibilities

Childcare

  • Provide attentive, safety-focused care for the baby.

  • Manage bottles, diapering, naps, and daily routines.

  • Support a consistent, calm daily structure.

Development & Engagement

  • Support the transition to solids and introduce foods thoughtfully.

  • Plan simple, age-appropriate, indoor, and outdoor activities.

  • Engage actively through play, reading, and interaction.

Communication

  • Keep parents consistently updated on feeding, sleep, mood, and daily activities.

  • Share any concerns or observations in a timely way.

Child-Related Household Tasks

  • Baby laundry.

  • Bottle cleaning and organization.

  • Light house holding keeping after the baby.

Nice to Have

  • Prepare simple baby food/purees.

  • Occasional light help with dishes or kitchen cleanup after cooking for the baby.

Ideal Candidate

This role is best suited for a nanny who takes genuine ownership of their work and brings a thoughtful, proactive approach to childcare.

Experience & Requirements

  • Comfortable supporting early development (feeding, routines, activity designs based on developmental milestones).

  • Experience introducing solids or supporting feeding progression preferred.

  • CPR and First Aid certification.

  • Up-to-date vaccinations (including flu shot).

  • Authorized to work in the U.S.

  • Able to pass a background check.

  • Non-smoker.

Nice to Have

  • Baby sign language familiarity

  • Montessori familiarity or a developmentally thoughtful approach

  • Additional language skills (Vietnamese preferred; Mandarin also a plus)

  • Comfortable driving child in the future for outings and activities

Home Environment

The family lives in Foster City with parks within walking distance.

Their home is on a lagoon, so strong safety awareness and attentiveness around outdoor environments is important.

Compensation & Benefits

  • $35–$40/hour depending on experience and fit.
