Timing
When should you book?
Most successful searches take 4–8 weeks, depending on role complexity. We recommend starting:
- 8–10 weeks before your desired nanny start date.
- 10–12 weeks before returning to work if you want onboarding overlap.
If your timeline is shorter, we can still talk — but the best searches happen when families are not forced to make rushed decisions.
Families often tell us
Real outcomes from Bay Area families.
“We didn't know what questions to ask. You did.”
As first-time parents we went in completely blind — we didn't even know what we didn't know. Preet helped us understand what to look for, what to ask in interviews, and what actually matters when you're hiring someone to care for an infant. That guidance alone made the whole process feel manageable.
“It felt like the exact process I would design — with none of the work for me.”
The process distinguished clearly between must-haves and nice-to-haves, included thoughtful guidance on structuring the role, and made a stressful search feel organized and manageable.
“More hands-on than any agency we looked at — including the established ones.”
We reached out to a few services at the same time. The others had a structured process, but it felt like they were following someone else's checklist. The depth of pre-screening here was on a completely different level — every candidate who made it to us had already been through something serious.
“We found our dream nanny.”
Nanny Spark took the time to understand our family needs, provided candidate profiles that met those needs, and handled the interviews, reference checks, background checks, contracts, and even a home manual/checklist.
“You turned something I would have had to drive into something you drove.”
Families stay involved where it matters, but Nanny Spark manages the momentum, coordination, and heavy lift.
“The nanny trials changed everything. Two hours told us more than weeks of resumes.”
We went in skeptical about what a two-hour trial could actually show us. The answer was: everything. Watching someone interact with our son made concrete what had been completely theoretical before. We wished we had started there.
“I know a great recruiter when I see one. From our very first conversation, I knew.”
I'm an engineering manager — I work with recruiters every day. Preet has a clear process but it feels flexible, not rigid. Responsive, thoughtful, and I felt like a priority from day one. That combination is rarer than it sounds.
“We only met two candidates. We would have happily hired either one.”
The filtering that happened before we saw anyone was clearly enormous. Every person who made it to us was genuinely great. That's the work we didn't have to do — and with a newborn at home, that mattered more than I can say.
“We'd tried the DIY route and a traditional agency. When we finally talked to Preet, it was: 'Ah yes. Finally.'”
Individual sourcing with a newborn is exhausting. The agency we tried just sent whoever was on their roster. Preet actively posted for our specific role, filtered for our specific needs, and made us feel like the search was actually moving.
