About the Family
Thoughtful, engaged family relocating from New York to the Bay Area. Both parents value intentional, high-quality childcare and are looking for a nanny who sees early childhood as a critical developmental stage and can be their partner in it. The family has a friendly golden retriever (no pet care required).
Long-term position (minimum one year), with potential to grow as the family plans for a second child.

Responsibilities
Childcare & Development
- Design and implement age-appropriate learning activities.
- Assess developmental milestones and suggest weekly focus areas.
- Support speech and language development (songs, books, narration, sign language).
- Encourage fine and gross motor development through intentional play.
- Foster independence while maintaining safety and structure.
- Maintain a low-screen, high-engagement environment.
Outings & Socialization
- Daily outings (parks, playgrounds).
- Music classes, gym/movement classes, playdates.
- Proactively build a healthy social routine with other nanny families.
Child-Related Household Support
- Child's laundry.
- Light meal prep for the child.
- Tidying child-related areas.
- Preparing activities during nap time.
Sample Daily Schedule (8:00 AM – 4:00 PM)
- 8:00–9:00 AM: Morning transition, diapering, free play with narration, breakfast.
- 9:00–10:15 AM: Outdoor play / park time, gross motor activities.
- 10:15–11:30 AM: Snack, diaper change, structured learning play.
- 11:30 AM–12:00 PM: Lunch and calm transition.
- 12:00–2:00 PM: Nap time (nanny rests / preps activities).
- 2:00–3:30 PM: Wake-up routine, snack, afternoon outing or class.
- 3:30–4:00 PM: Wind-down play, tidying, parent handoff.
This schedule is a guiding framework and will evolve with the child's needs.
This Role Is Not a Fit If You
- Prefer being given a daily checklist rather than creating the plan.
- Are uncomfortable taking initiative or making recommendations.
- Rely heavily on screens for entertainment.
- Are looking for a short-term position.
Required Qualifications
- Prior nanny, daycare, and/or preschool experience.
- Experience caring for toddlers.
- CPR & First Aid certified.
- Clean background check.
- Clean driving record.
- Comfortable with dogs.
- Non-smoker.
Compensation
- $35–$42/hour depending on experience and qualifications.
- Paid trial day required before final offer.
